For our Christmas 2000 holiday we went to Plantation Bay Resort and Spa near Cepu City Philippines (see map below for perspective of location relative to Manila).
The resort is situated around a very large man-made saltwater lagoon which was very unique. From our perspective one of the downsides for this design was that the actual beach facing the "real" sea was rather small. You could swim and use paddle boats in the lagoon, and there were large slides which Kimberly really enjoyed. The rooms were spacious and well appointed and the food at the various resort restaurants was generally good. We didn't really venture outside of the resort during our stay at it had everything that we needed. Overall a good trip and we would recommend this resort for anyone looking for a place to stay in this area.
