July 2007 - Family Vacation to Wakatobi Dive Resort

Enjoying one of our many wonderful dinners Wakatobi beautiful sunset Beach front bungalows we stayed in White sand beach The kids enjoying dinner in their room (in Bali afterwards) In July 2007 Bill, Anette and Kimberly returned to the Wakatobi Dive Resort.  This was Bill's 3rd trip to Wakatobi while it was Anette and Kimberly's 2nd trip to Wakatobi.  We were joined by our friends Paul and Dawn Rusch with their two kids Jayce and Leo.    All the accolades mentioned in our prior trip reports are still valid, however, since our last visit the resort has seen many improvements so it just keeps getting better and better.  Rather than repeat what we have written in prior trip reports you can read about our prior trips at 2003 Wakatobi trip and 2004 Wakatobi trip. Many more bungalows have been added since our last visit such that the resort can now handle 50+ guests.  Despite the increase capacity the resort still affords plenty of quietness and privacy as the bungalows are well spaced apart.  In addition, this trip we splurged and stayed at the villas which were a little nicer and more private than the garden and beach bungalows.  Well worth the extra cost.  Overall a very enjoyable trip for all.  We hope to return soon.
